These innovative technologies represent the future of road markings in China!
On January 13, 2023, the results of the "Recommended Directory of Smart and Low-Carbon Technologies in the Transportation Industry" organized by the China Communications and Transportation Association were officially announced, and three projects submitted by TATU Highway Group were listed.

In the video below, a large road marking vehicle is at work. It marks lines quickly and accurately, with excellent line patterns and extremely high construction safety. This type of road marking method, which is mainstream in Europe and America, is rare in road marking construction in China. The most common method in China is for one person to push the vehicle while several other people assist.

For many years, China's road marking equipment has lagged behind developed countries in Europe and America due to factors such as traditional construction habits and the long-term lack of a large-scale road marking equipment industry. While large, safe and efficient road marking vehicles are now widely used in Europe and America, we still mainly use hand-push road marking machines.
Although ride-on marking machines have begun to enter the domestic market in recent years, most of them use direct-fired hot melt kettles for melting, which directly heats a single-layer kettle bottom or a hot oil jacket. Both of these methods have problems such as limited heating area, slow melting speed, poor quality, and waste of heat energy and exhaust pollution.

Similar to the development of road marking equipment in China, the development of road marking paint has also progressed.
Since the 1990s, with the rise of environmental awareness in Europe and the United States, new types of nylon road marking paints and water-based road marking paints, characterized by high visibility in rainy nights, cleanliness, environmental friendliness, and superior performance, have rapidly developed in developed countries such as the United States, Germany, and Spain. In contrast, in China, energy-intensive ordinary hot-melt paints and room-temperature paints containing volatile solvents still account for a large proportion.

In particular, in the United States, after considering factors such as VOC emissions, lifespan, cost-effectiveness, road protection effect, and reflective performance, nano-nylon marking paint and room-temperature water-soluble marking paint have become the most widely used marking paints.

To achieve carbon peaking by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, the domestic road marking market is increasingly showing a trend of using nano-nylon road marking paint, room-temperature water-based road marking paint, and two-component road marking paint.
